Robbers’ Relief (formerly known as Five Thieves) is our version of the classic essential oil blend. Though the name of this blend changes from company to company, the ingredients are the same: Clove, Cinnamon, Lemon, Rosemary & Eucalyptus.
The history of this oil blend is just as unique as the mixture itself. The ingredients used are based off the tale from yore of French thieves who protect themselves while robbing people during the plague. Their method of protection was to cover themselves with cloves, rosemary and other aromatics. Hence the name Thieves, Robbers, Bandits, etc. oil.
Robbers’ Relief is a combination of these five essential oils (Clove, Cinnamon, Lemon, Rosemary & Eucalyptus) and is believed to be highly antiviral and antibacterial. A must-have for health-conscious individuals.
Here are 7 Tips and Uses for Robbers’ Relief:
Sore Throat Relief: Gargle 1-3 drops with water. Then dilute with a carrier oil* and apply it to the outer neck.
Household Cleaning: Add 5-10 drops to a 12 oz spray bottle filled with water and use it to clean any surface in the house. Works great on children’s toys, counter tops, floors, pet cages and more.
Cold and Flu Virus: Rub a couple drops directly on the soles of your feet to protect yourself from the cold and flu virus. Use a carrier oil when applying on children, or if you have sensitive skin.
Dishwasher AId: Add a few drops with your detergent and run a normal cycle for cleaner dishes.
Fight Foot Fungus: Apply 1 drop directly to the infected area.
Homemade Hand Sanitizer: Mix 5 drops with 2 Tbsp aloe vera gel, 1 Tbsp filtered water and 1/8 tsp vitamin E oil. Store in a 2 oz. squeeze bottle and keep handy in your purse.
Immunity Boost: Add 1-3 drops to your diffuser and run for 15-20 minutes to eliminate airborne bacteria. Ideal to help boost the immune system.
*Some good carrier oils are: jojoba, olive, coconut, fractionated coconut & grapeseed oils.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Cinnamon & Clove are hot oils, meaning they leave a burning sensation when applied directly to the skin. For this reason you want to make sure you apply a carrier oil before putting the oil on your skin. If you do get the oil directly on your skin and it becomes irritated, apply a carrier oil or lotion to the area. The sensation should subside in a couple minutes.
Does diluting Robber’s Relief with carrier oil reduce its effectiveness? I’d like to mix with carrier in another bottle so it isn’t so strong and can take with me. If yes, how many drops of each. Using for weak immune system for Senior.
